Workshop Terms & Conditions

By leaving your bike with Pedal Inn Bicycle Garage you agree to the following:

 Bike Servicing & Repairs

• Estimates are free. We may charge a fee if an extensive assessment and/or quote is required.
• Cleaning charges. If your bike is too dirty to work on, we’ll treat it to a bath at your cost.
• Please remove baby seats, packs and accessories from your bike before dropping off. Additional charges may apply if we need to spend time removing them for servicing.
• Pedal Inn will not be held liable for easily removed accessories going missing whilst in our care.
• Work will be completed as agreed when you drop your bike off.
• If additional works or parts are required in addtion to the orgininal agreemen we will call or sms a quote for approval. Work may not be started until we have received approval.
• If the additional cost is within 15% of the original estimate, we may choose to proceed without seeking approval.
• If you choose NOT to follow our mechanic’s recommendations, we cannot guarantee that your bicycle will work as it should. If the recommendation is a safety concern, we may refuse to do any work on your bike.
• Pedal Inn Bicycle Garage accepts no liability for any defects arising with the bicycle or injuries sustained as a result of not undertaking the recommended work.
• Unless booked for the minimum service, we may not complete an assessment or safety check and therefore will not advise on potential defects. Pedal Inn Bicycle Garage accepts no liability for any defects arising with the bicycle, or injuries sustained as a result of defects outside the agreed scope of work.

• Servicing and building bikes when customers supply components (ie not purchased from Pedal Inn) will be subject to an hourly labour charge. Pedal Inn reserves the right to refuse service when there is reasonable doubt about the safety or compatibility of supplied components.

• If a mechanic judges that a repair or service cannot be completed due to safety or any other reason after being started, Pedal Inn reserves the right to charge for any work already carried out on the bike.
• Priority repair fee. If you have an urgent repair, we charge a fee to get it done within 24 hours. This is subject to a mechanic being available to work overtime. 
• We reserve the right to subcontract specialist work.

 Electric and Motorised Equipment

• E-bikes should be provided with the battery charged and keys to locks and batteries.
• If your e-bike is modified in any way that it does not meet Australian Standards for road use; you must advise us prior to drop-off. If you choose to reserve this information, we may stop work mid-service and Pedal Inn reserves the right to charge accordingly without continuing.
• Due to our shop location, we cannot test-ride e-bikes that are NOT speed-limited to 25km p/hr.
• To ensure we only carry out work to the highest possible standard we do not service or repair bikes with aftermarket motor kits, modified e-bikes or e-scooters.
• Pedal Inn reserves the right to refuse service any equipment without explanation.

Completion of Work

• Services (and preferably repairs) must be booked ahead.
• Servicing turnaround is usually the same day for pre-booked services.
• If we can’t do it in the agreed timeframe, we will advise you asap.
• If we don’t have suitable components to complete the agreed work. We will complete the work as soon as possible after the parts arrive.

 Price & Payment

• Price is as quoted either when you drop off or as agreed after the assessment.
• We may ask for a deposit prior to starting any work.
• Payment in full is required on completion of any work undertaken to your bicycle and prior to the return of your bicycle. Pedal Inn Bicycle Garage reserves the right to retain your bicycle until you have paid in full.

 Collection of Bicycles

• Unless negotiated otherwise, you agree to collect your bicycle within 2 days of receiving notification that work has been completed.
• A storage fee of $5 per day may be charged for bikes not collected within 7 days.
• Failure to collect your bike within 28 days may result in the sale or disposal of your bike.
• We will make reasonable contact with you within this time frame by sms, phone calls and email (if we have it).
• We will deduct any outstanding payment due from you for the work from the proceeds of any sale of your bicycle, together with any costs of sale, and if applicable, we will then pay you the balance of proceeds of the sale.

 General

Pedal Inn Bicycle Garage amends these terms from time to time. Leaving your bicycle, wheel, or any component with our team is considered an agreement to these terms and conditions.
